Each year, the HonorHealth Foundation brings together community members, donors, and healthcare champions to celebrate the incredible impact philanthropy has on the lives of patients and families. The recent Impact Appreciation Event was a shining example of what happens when generosity meets purpose — and how events like Croquet for a Cure continue to drive meaningful change across our community.
Honoring the Power of Generosity
The Impact Appreciation Event was an evening filled with inspiration, gratitude, and hope. Supporters and partners gathered to reflect on the extraordinary outcomes made possible through donor giving. From groundbreaking medical research to innovative patient care programs, every contribution plays a vital role in advancing HonorHealth’s mission to improve health and well-being for all.
Guests had the chance to hear from clinicians, researchers, and community advocates whose work is directly supported by donor generosity. Among them was Dr. Peter Nakaji, an internationally recognized neurosurgeon and the new Director of the entire HonorHealth Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Nakaji shared his vision for expanding cutting-edge, compassionate care for families facing memory loss — and how philanthropy is helping to shape the future of the Cognitive Care Clinic, a key part of that vision.
The evening served as a heartfelt reminder that each gift — large or small — creates a ripple of impact that touches countless lives across the Valley.
Croquet for a Cure: Where Community and Compassion Come Together
Nowhere is the spirit of community more visible than at Croquet for a Cure — a signature event that combines friendly competition, joyful connection, and purpose-driven giving.
Picture a sunny Arizona afternoon filled with elegant lawn party vibes, the laughter of friends and families, and the satisfying clink of a croquet ball rolling through the wicket. This lively day of American 9-Wicket Cut-Throat croquet brings together players and spectators alike for an unforgettable celebration — all in support of an important cause.
It’s more than just a fun day on the lawn. Croquet for a Cure raises vital funds for the HonorHealth Foundation’s Myles & Hermanda O’Connor Fund, established by the Seoane Family. This fund supports the new Cognitive Care Clinic at the Bob Bove Neuroscience Institute, where patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and related neurodegenerative diseases receive world-class, multi-disciplinary care delivered with compassion, offering much needed hope to them and the families that love them.
At the 2025 Impact Appreciation Event, Croquet for a Cure Founders Meg and Steve Seoane, along with family, friends, and supporters, proudly presented the HonorHealth Foundation with a check for $263,000, representing the combined donations from 2024 and 2025. These funds are already making an impact — helping advance research, enhance care, and bring us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s and memory disorders.
