Croquet for a Cure 2026

The Best Lawn Party in Town

About the Event

Join us for the Fourth Annual Croquet for a Cure on Saturday, March 7, 2026, as we gather for an unforgettable day of community, fun, and impact. This annual event raises vital funds for memory care, with proceeds benefiting the Myles & Hermanda O’Connor Fund at HonorHealth Foundation. Together, we are advancing expert care and groundbreaking research for those facing Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Croquet for a Cure was founded by the Seoane Family, whose generosity and vision are transforming the future of memory care. What began as a family’s heartfelt tribute has grown into one of the Valley’s most meaningful and spirited fundraisers.

At last year’s event, thanks to the dedication of our committee and the generosity of our community, we raised over $200,000 in gross income, donated directly to HonorHealth’s Cognitive Care Clinic at the Neuroscience Institute in Old Town. With 80% of funds raised going directly to the cause, Croquet for a Cure exceeds national nonprofit benchmarks—delivering $4 NET for every $1 spent.

American 9 Wicket “Cut-Throat” Croquet Rules

*All referee decisions are final. Penalty for arguing may include, but will not be limited to: Performing jumping jacks, push-ups and/or reciting all 50 states in alphabetical order.

Be the first to strike your ball through all wickets, the turning post, remaining wickets in correct order, & hit the finishing stake before all others.

30 minutes MAX. If time runs out, the player closest to the finishing stake wins. *Lead referee will decide.

Players will take turns in the following order:
🔵 Blue → 🔴 Red → ⚫ Black → 🟡 Yellow → 🟢 Green → 🟠 Orange

The ball is played into the game between the starting stake and first wicket — forward motion only.

One Additional Stroke:

  • Making it through one or more wickets and/or hitting the turning post.

Two Additional Strokes (ROQUET):
If a player hits another player’s ball, they may choose to:

  • Simply take two extra strokes, or
  • Perform a CROQUET: Player places their ball touching the “roqueted” ball, puts foot on their own ball, strikes their own ball so “roqueted” ball goes in any direction, & finally takes one stroke on their own ball in a forward direction.
